November in Review
How in the world is it already December? I am overwhelmed by how fast time is flying.
Every month, I like to reflect on things I’ve experienced, accomplished and tried as I set goals for the new month. Here are my November highlights:
I went wine tasting with friends. The first weekend of November, I drove out to Ramona, California to go on a brunch + wine tasting double date. We sipped at Kohill, Cactus Star & Woof n Rose. Each of these was family-owned and run and featured amazing reds. I had so much fun getting away for a day and spending some vino-fueled quality time with three of my favorite people.
I was published in Elite Daily again! I wrote honestly about how it feels to have an anxiety attack. You can check it out here!
I voted for the first time! While I’m not pleased with the outcome of this election, I felt empowered to actually cast my ballot for the first time.
I wheeled around Disneyland! My friend Leah immediately recognized the silver lining to my crutch-situation, and we promptly planned a trip to Disneyland so I could be pushed in a wheelchair. I hadn’t been to Disneyland in two years (which for me is quite awhile), and the feeling of magic was so real all over again. We spent the day (at the front of the lines, of course) laughing, screaming and smiling. I wish I could capture that whole day in a bottle and open it whenever I’m sad. It was perfect.
I dyed my hair. Crutches = restless Emily. I wanted a change, so I upped the red/burgundy in my hair…and chopped off over 5 inches. Time for some change.
Doctors gave me the green light to get off crutches! This speaks for itself, I’d say. The following day, I went on a bike ride (oops) and riding around Coronado was such a liberating feeling.
