November in Review

Happy Holiday Season! It's officially December...and my mind is blown at how fast 2017 has flown by.

If you are a consistent reader of Espresso & Endorphins, you surely know by now that I planned to set mini-goals and mantras for each month that ultimately build up to my larger 2017 goals. This November, my goals consisted of: deep cleaning and purging my apartment to minimize my "stuff" (check!), complete my volunteer training for the zoo (check!), catch up on sleep (nope), get back into a morning routine (working on it...) and read three books (sadly, no). You win some, you lose some, right? Beyond these goals, my mantra the last 30 days was "illuminate." So, this month I focused on bringing light and joy into the things and people around me - however possible. I found that it came mostly in the form of me actively choosing to be happy and to see silver linings all month long - and hoping that energy was contagious to those around me.

Here are a few other highlights from November:

I trekked up a few mountains. I hiked up Cowles Mountain at sunset to watch the full moon and meditate...and followed it with a mid-morning hike up Iron Mountain a few weeks later. Despite traveling so much lately, I'm still trying to make an effort to get outside!

I started dating again. No Carrie Bradshaw-esque details...yet.

I signed up for yoga teacher training. I start in February...and am so excited/nervous. Thank you, NP Family, for making this happen.

I traveled to San Francisco for the North Face Endurance Challenge Series. Honestly, it was one of my most fun trips to date. Read more about my time in my SF-themed Tuesday Ten

I chopped off a few more inches of my hair. I'm loving it short...how short can I go?!

I traveled to Cuba for a week. Honestly, I'm having a hard time articulating my amazing trip at the moment (I've only been back in the US for 48 hours!), but expect some posts around this. My main point: GO.

During the final month of this year, I will be focusing on "Let's have fun, ok?!"
