Tuesday Ten

Tuesday Ten

New blog...same Tuesday Ten. Enjoy!

1. Glow
I finally caught up with Jane the Virgin, so I was on the hunt for a new Netflix binge and asked my friends for suggestions. Glow immediately came up...and I was immediately hooked. Glow is a comedy following Hollywood misfits in the 80s who are cast as the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. It's both silly and smart, and I love it.

2. Belli Belli Salon
On Friday, I chopped off about 3.5-4 inches of my hair at Belli Belli Salon. It doesn't sound like a lot, but my hair wasn't long to begin with! So, my hair is now hovering just above my shoulders. I'd been thinking about cutting it after seeing how cute Gina Rodriguez's hair was on the latest season of Jane the Virgin (yes, mentioning again...). I finally bit the bullet, and I love it! It's incredibly soft and feels fresh and light. Thank you Leu!

3. Torrey Pines
Torrey Pines is the quintessential San Diego hike - with stunning views of the ocean and cliffs all around. Last week, I visited the spot in Del Mar after work with my friends - trying to take advantage of summer daylight that lasts so long! It was as gorgeous as I remembered and the perfect way to shake off a hard day at work.

4. Puppies
While I am a cat mom, I do adore dogs (particularly Shibas, huskies and corgis...for future reference). One of my best friends Katie just got the cutest golden retriever puppy - and I am officially obsessed. Why can't dogs stay puppies?!

5. The Bicoastal Beauty
My most recent blog crush: The Bicoastal Beauty. My dear friend Kellie runs this fashion and travel blog...and I'm constantly inspired by her ability to dress so stylishly...in an affordable way. As someone who has no fashion sense, I weirdly love fashion blogs...

6. Iron Mountain
This past Sunday, I joined my friend Dana, her boyfriend and his brother for a jaunt up Iron Mountain, a local trail in Poway. While it's somewhat of a San Diego staple, I had never visited the trail. It was absolutely stunning - you begin under a grove of trees (this shade doesn't last for long so prepare accordingly) and end with a view of mountains and a panorama of San Diego. We celebrated our quick hike up with summit mimosas. Best part? Holding a baby horny lizard...and not eating it when I fell once.

7. Daily Themed Crossword App
Firstly, I am a huge nerd and love crosswords more than most things. In high school, I wouldn't leave for the day until I finished the daily crossword in the newspaper. Secondly, I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately, so I downloaded the Daily Themed Crossword app. I know you are supposed to stay away from your phone (and any blue light) at night, but playing these crosswords at night in bed has kept me so distracted to the point I fall asleep playing. Right now...whatever works! And, at least I'm using my brain!

8. King's Craft Coffee
After our hike up Iron Mountain, the four of us headed down to King's Craft Coffee in Poway for some iced lattes. I settled on an almond milk vanilla latte and a Belgian waffle. Best post-hike treat ever. I am always on the hunt for good coffee shops in inland North County, and I think I found one!

9. Travel Planning
Aside from a brief trip to Idyllwild in January and a jaunt to Las Vegas for work last month, I have not traveled this year. Well, apparently, I saved it all for the end of the year. I'm about to go to Idyllwild (again), Orange County, Nashville, Atlanta, Scottsdale, San Francisco and maybe Cuba or D.C...all before Christmas. Exploring new places excites me so much - and while I've been to a few of these before, I'm excited for new experiences and memories and am already planning each of these trips. I can't wait to get away!

10. Self-Care Friday Nights
To everyone that has the energy to go out on Friday nights, props to you. Usually, I'm so worn out from the week, so instead, I have a standing date with myself on Friday nights (whether I'm single or in a relationship). Read more about it here

What are you into this week? Let me know in the comments!
